The Carpathian Basin Spagetti Bridge Competition or RECCS will be organized for the sixth time at the University of Óbuda. Beside the traditional heavyweight category (breaking bridges) this year in the connection with Széchenyi memorial year in the honour of great statesman and his work a new category called "Chain Bridge" is annouced. Here, the aesthetic values and quality of make will be evaluated.
In the honor of Széchenyi memorial year, a new category of contest is announced on the Carpathian Basin Spaghetti Bridge Competition. The competitors of category named "Chain bridge" have to build the scaled model of Budapest’s Chain bridge (see the picture below) using spaghetti and glue. The scale that competitors can use is arbitrary.
The annual home spaghetti bridge competition at the Budapest tech was organised by Institute of Machine Construction and Safety Techniques. The happening took place on 13th of November, in the Népszinház street building.
On 25 May 2007, the Institute of Machine Design and Security Technology of Donát Bánki Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Security Technology organized the 3rd Pasta Bridge Building Competition of the Carpathian Basin under the name RECCS 2007. This year’s competition was organized in commemoration of György Diószegi, recently deceased excellent professor of the College.
